For all you fans of the original Elite and/or possibly Frontier there is good news!!

Kickstarter UK has provided David Braben with an opportunity to design the ultimate game of Elite.

For Details check out the following link: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1461411552/elite-dangerous?ref=home_popular

I am not a kickstarter fan but I am intrigued with this and think I may be tempted to back this one project!

Even more tempted but battle Cruiser 3000 a lovely idea for a game never quite finished rather haunts me....

I am going to have to back this though to be honest the other one Zarni mentioned the other day also sounds as if not more interesting.

Here is the latest development diary piece, showing live work-in-progress gameplay footage of a convoy under attack. It shows a mix of AIs and real players controlling the ships:

As a backer I have been keeping tabs on this project and it is looking really impressive so far. A colleague at work has also backed the game but at the level he got Alpha Access.

I have been jealously listening to all the fun he has been having during that process, but it does sound like the alpha was pretty high quality to start with and now we are approaching the Premium Beta release which will be adding more to the game as it nears final development.

The latest progress Diary can be seen here:

I'm really really looking forward to this, though I have realistic expectations on my ability to play this, i.e not very well  BangHead  Dont Know

My pledge level will allow me access to the normal Beta test releases, so eventually I may be able to provide some first hand reports on how this beast of a game actually plays but I am expecting good things based on what I have seen and heard so far.
