Captain's Log

Captain Richard Harleck - Commanding Officer USS Enceladus

Stardate 57020.5

We received a call from Admiral Vanya Seagar ordering us to search or the missing USS So'vaal.

Starfleet received an automated distress call from the USS So'vaal.

We have begun our investigations at Deep Space 4.  Thus far we know that the So'vaal left DS4 six days before the distress signal.  The station has no record of any incidents with the crew whilst they were aboard DS4.

We have got a copy of the So'vaal's flight plan from the stations Chief of Operations.

I hope we can find out what happend to the So'vaal

Captain's Log

Captain Richard Harleck - Commanding Officer USS Enceladus

Stardate 57022.1

After departing DS4 we followed the flight path of the USS So'Vaal.  We have assatained that the So'vaal has reached the Taurus nebula.

Scans of the nebula show that it is being disturbed by High Band Theta Radiation.  This radiation has proved dangerous to our sensors, LT Durak and LT Richardson have started setting counter measures in place.

Up on reaching the Nebula we have found the wreckage of the USS So'vaal and wreckage of a Borg Sphere.  They are both caught in an event horizon which is encased in a Thetamagnetic sphere.

Dr Tali is heading up a rescue mission on the USS Dove (Runabout) it's engines have failed a short time after entering the Thetamagnetic Sphere

Captain's Log

Captain Richard Harleck - Commanding Officer USS Enceladus

Stardate 57022.4

We have managed to rescue nine crew members of the USS So'vaal, this was achieved by a relay of transporters via our Runabout (the USS Dove).

LT Richardson and Lt Durak have found evidence of an unknown object that may be the cause of the event horizon and the high band thetamegnetic sphere.

The six Borg on the So'vaal's sensor module are building an Ionic Suppression Cannon apparently to disable this device.

An away team have set up an electrical feedback program on the sensor module in hopes of disabling the Borg

Whilst on this mission Crewman Linda Arronson (Security Guard) was injected with Borg nanites

We are waiting on the results of the feedback program

Science Officer's Log, Supplemental;

It has come to my attention, that encounters with Borg Drones could be made considerably safer by using specially designed protective gear, to prevent easy assimilation. Perhaps some sort of Kevlar Weave, patterned after simple stab-proof protective gear? If it could be made air-tight and combined with breathing aparatus of some sort, it could perhaps serve well as an all-purpose hazard-suit and replace the combat-innapropriate ones issued as standard by star-fleet...

Secondly, In situations such as we found ourselves in today, I see plenty of potential gain to be had from outfitting a probe with both simple robotics and various simple problem-solving algorithms. I will compare notes with the Cheif of Engineering on the pheasability of such a device, see if we can't construct a prototype or two.

End Log.
