It doesn’t matter what world you come from… you’re welcome in ours. WynterCon 2014 is a new convention celebrating alternative realities across the Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Horror and Alternative Genres and will be held from the 31st October – 2nd November 2014 at the Winter Gardens in Eastbourne. We’ve chosen Eastbourne to host WynterCon as the South East of England has seen a significant increase in alternative genre awareness over the past 5 years, with both the World Horror & Fantasy Conventions choosing our coastline as their preferred UK location. Coupled with the increasing visibility the area has received from blockbuster hits such as James Bond, Pearl Harbour, Harry Potter, Brighton Rock, Dr Who and numerous TV and advertising productions, it is safe to say that Eastbourne and the surrounding coastline are now firmly on location scout’s radars! It’s not been an overnight decision to bring an alternative genre convention to Eastbourne, but we feel that it’s about time for us to continue the legacy that has been built in our area and bring together the different communities by providing them with a space to celebrate their hobbies & interests.
