I will be bringing StarWars: Edge of the Empire beginners set if anyone is interested.

I was thinking players could take turns as the GM on separate scenarios.

very nice to meet you MountainGoatNinja I hope the company of the seriously deranged did not put you off at all & you will be down again. I would be more than up for a go at the new Starwars RPG I just had to get my work done before I could let myself have a play.

I hav normally sorted stuff out so I can before a session but I skived off yesterday & there is a price to pay.

Thanks Evilginger, it was a shame that you had to work, but it was great getting involved in the Pathfinder campaign with, as you put it, the seriously deranged...... i feel it added a much needed breath of fresh air in every day life, so i most definitely will be around next week :D .

I will get to play starwars at some point.

There was some talk about possibly needing a game to fill in next week, actually. So yes, you may very well.

Next week is normally Hackmaster & Deadlands   by Walrus & Dust respectively & as far as I am aware HackMaster is running as even if  Walrus is unavailable I also Gm Hackmaster all be it in a slightly different universe. The fill in game is normally needed on Pathfinder weeks when Jamie a mere novice at 18 years experience as a  Gm has trouble coping with more than eight players & the madness that results.

I would love a go at the empires edge game having become a late fan of star wars as a  game setting.

However I will never put a man off who offers to run games especially as recent experience was that it was largely me & Ainu who generally gm's on Wednesdays as he can't make it on Thursday's

I believe the situation is that Vince won't be up to running Deadlands. Jamie offered to fill in with extra pathfinder, but that left the issue of possibly disrupting the Hackmaster games, so if someone is itching to run some Starwars, that would be pretty good timing.

That would be a good thing as Hackmaster is one of the things which helps to suppress my natural ginger culling instinct the carnage amongst the pavement cyclist alone population would be immense

I'm a quality over quantity kinda guy.

If Jamie is a Padwan with 18 year experience, that makes me a babe in comparison!

Well we have to start somewhere I suppose  :-\

every one does & every one fails but wisdom comes form knowing this & improving. Most of all letting your players build the world with you.

I think EvilGinger is just pulling your leg.  GM-ing is not some sort of mystical art.  A lot of the best games I've played were by first time GMs.  By the time you have played in a few games and GM'd a few sessions, you'll have learned 95% of what you need to.

The important thing is to find your confidence and run the game you want to run.  Be yourself and remember that rule 1 is that the GM is always right.  Most people will respect that.

If a player doesn't like what you do, then they may will vote with their feet.  But the majority will stay and will be happy to play in new worlds and with how you GM.

Its not a mystical art perhaps, but its one where ones skills improve with experience if you are thoughtful about that experiance and you don't develop any of the vices some do

The main strength off new Games masters is they have not done the above or become jaded by over doing the role also somthing of a risk if you are the only one in the group who is prepared to GM.
