Retailers, Sign Up for Your Chance to Host an X-Wing Event!

Retailers: Apply by November 15th to take advantage of a unique opportunity to make your store a hub of excitement for Star Wars: X-Wing™ Miniatures Game!
Due to a slight delay at the factory, the second wave of X-Wing expansions won’t be available until February. Fortunately, we were able to airship a limited number of these new expansion packs in order to make them available for a special preview event.
FFG’s Kessel Run preview event is an exclusive X-Wing tournament taking place December 14 – 16, and a limited number of retailers will have a chance to participate. This exclusive event will provide players their first opportunity to see some of their favorite new starships in action!
Fans are already buzzing in anticipation of the second wave of expansions for X-Wing, which include the legendary Millennium Falcon™ and Slave I™. Our Kessel Run preview event is an excellent opportunity to connect with your customers by letting them compete for the right to be among the first in the world to field these iconic starships, as well as the A-wing™ and TIE interceptor™.
Participating stores will each receive a preview kit containing the following items (limit one kit per store):
- One Millennium Falcon™ Expansion Pack
- One Slave I™ Expansion Pack
- Two A-Wing™ Expansion Packs
- Two TIE Interceptor™ Expansion Packs
- A promotional poster featuring art from the expansions
- An instructional letter detailing how to run a Kessel Run tournament
How Does It Work?
Each retailer participating in the Kessel Run preview event will run an X-Wing tournament during the weekend of December 14 – 16. Players bring 100-point squadrons and compete through a number of Swiss-style preliminary rounds while following all the standard rules described in the X-Wing Tournament Rules document (pdf, 4.0 MB).
However, in the final round, everything changes! After the close of the preliminary rounds, the tournament’s two top players set aside their personal squads and assume control of preview squads built from the event kits.
One player will field two A-wings and the incomparable Millennium Falcon. The other will field two TIE Interceptors and the versatile and deadly Slave I. Then, each of the tournament’s top four participants get to claim one of the preview expansions!
Prizes:
- 1st Place – First choice of one Kessel Run preview ship
- 2nd Place – Second choice of one Kessel Run preview ship
- 3rd Place – Third choice of one Kessel Run preview ship
- 4th Place – Fourth choice of one Kessel Run preview ship
The two remaining Kessel Run preview ships go to the Tournament Organizer as a “thank you” for all his or her hard work! NOTE: Retailers will find the full details on hosting a Kessel Run tournament, as well as the preview squad lists, in the kit’s instructional letter.

How Do You Get Involved?
U.S. Retailers should apply through our online form by November 15th for a chance to host a Kessel Run preview event (retailers outside the U.S.: see the sidebar to the right). We will contact applicants by November 19th. If you are approved to host a Kessel Run event, we will send instructions for ordering your event kit. We’ll post a list of participating retailers in a few weeks.
What Can Players Do?
If you’re an X-Wing player, be sure to contact your favorite local gaming store about this exciting preview event. Then be sure to check our website in early December for the full list of participating retailers in order to make your plans to attend.
In the meantime, start building your squads and getting in your practice games. This is your chance to be among the first in the world to claim the Millennium Falcon, Slave I, an A-wing, or a TIE interceptor.
