Title: Deathwatch - Custom Chapters Post by: Snakes in the Tiki Lounge on 26 April 2012, 02:38:04 Deathwatch Custom Chapters
Table of Content
Further to our little session this wednesday of creating some custom chapters for eventual Deathwatch use, I've whipped up a couple of basic colourscheme concepts. Created using this web app (http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/smp.php) Iconography (http://i50.tinypic.com/1zqvbys.jpg)(http://i49.tinypic.com/2j129i0.jpg)(http://i50.tinypic.com/e3pfr.jpg) Crimson Eagles, Star Wolves and Thunder Fists respectively. Hopefully sometime this weekend, Andy may be able to post some further details on them, so they are here for the record, but the above at least gives a breif idea from memory. Fan-Favourites on the day were the Swashbuckling, robo-horse-riding Space Hawks (with their significant tank support) and the slightly devolved, flesh eating, sunglasses wearing rulers of their urban feral world; the renegade Star Wolves. Hopefully the above does them justice. [edit] Second Founding chapters added. Favourite bits on the day were the Crab-Riding Subterainian hive dwelling Thunderfists and their figure of Legend "Lucky Seben" (of the Dark Angels 7th Company, 7th Squad) who definately wore his moustache like Tom Seleck and the Silver Owls who are Good Doctors and Have a Plan. Title: Re: Deathwatch - Custom Chapters Post by: EvilGinger on 26 April 2012, 18:19:02 As well as the above which certainly generates some very nice art work there are rules for building Custom chapters for the RPG in
(http://www.spiritgames.co.uk/image/rpg/6268.jpg) The Rites Of Battle & The rules for all the First founding chapters not to be found in the main rule book & the Rites of battle are to be found here (http://www.spiritgames.co.uk/image/rpg/6586.jpg) The First Founding. Though it should be noted that if you follow the guidelines in Rites of battle home brew chapters are a little weaker than the ones written into the official background but just as colourful & potentially interesting to play. >:DGinger Title: Re: Deathwatch - Custom Chapters Post by: Snakes in the Tiki Lounge on 26 April 2012, 18:23:43 That's where these came from, actually. Rites of Battle, all randomly rolled except for the Star Wolves.
Title: Re: Deathwatch - Custom Chapters Post by: EvilGinger on 26 April 2012, 19:40:12 Very Cool would love to play Deathwatch as opposed to running it I dont get to play enough :( I posted those by way of useful information to those who did not know. If you post the details I would gladly include them as options for my players in the Current Deathwatch game as they are likely to be needing a new character or four at the rate they are going.

It's a system that I am interested in running eventually, but preferably after I've had chance to play in it first. :) Title: Re: Deathwatch - Custom Chapters Post by: Arnu on 27 April 2012, 03:42:52 Some nice work there Tiki
I will try to post a write up of the Star Wolves this weekend Andie Title: Re: Deathwatch - Custom Chapters Post by: Snakes in the Tiki Lounge on 30 April 2012, 00:43:46 (http://i49.tinypic.com/2j129i0.jpg)
The Star Wolves are further detailed in This Thread (http://www.bigbangburgerbar.co.uk/Forum/index.php?topic=3281.0) Title: Re: Deathwatch - Custom Chapters Post by: Arnu on 02 May 2012, 00:48:02 I like the Chapter symbol nice work
We seem to be getting an interesting chapter. Title: Re: Deathwatch - Custom Chapters Post by: Snakes in the Tiki Lounge on 26 June 2012, 17:47:23 Space Hawks Primarch's curse now also in place, along with the Crimson Eagles and Night Dragons.
That means I can soon start on the "Second Founding" Chapters. Which I have now made a start on, we have proposed colourschemes added to the first post there. The irony being of course, that for players 90% of it gets painted over upon joining the Deathwatch, but there we go. I feel it's as good a place to start as any, if nothing else. Perhaps eventually I'll go back over and do more Logo's for the rest of them, as only Star-Wolves have one so-far. I'll leave that on a back-burner for now though, unless anyone has any particularly good ideas or really wants to see a certain chapter done. Title: Re: Deathwatch - Custom Chapters Post by: EvilGinger on 04 July 2012, 19:28:47 Grey Angels are almost done just some details to do & the Livery needs doing
>:DGinger Title: Re: Deathwatch - Custom Chapters Post by: Snakes in the Tiki Lounge on 13 July 2012, 22:27:56 Thunder Fists are now mostly done. All that's left to do is design their Chapter Trappings and Primarch's Curse, so I'm adding them to the links at the top of the chapters I've posted.
Title: Re: Deathwatch - Custom Chapters Post by: EvilGinger on 14 July 2012, 05:42:19 which reminds me I need to detail the Grey Angels Primarchs curse
>:DGinger Title: Re: Deathwatch - Custom Chapters Post by: Snakes in the Tiki Lounge on 31 July 2012, 00:56:37 Thunder Fists are finally complete. That just leaves the Vermillion Wasps to write up.

An Icon for the Thunder Fists. Title: Re: Deathwatch - Custom Chapters Post by: Snakes in the Tiki Lounge on 09 August 2012, 17:59:46 (http://i50.tinypic.com/1zqvbys.jpg)
An Icon for the Crimson Eagles. Title: Re: Deathwatch - Custom Chapters Post by: Snakes in the Tiki Lounge on 21 May 2015, 19:38:37 As I find myself at something of a lack for things to focus on due to a change in internet habits, I think it's time to officially put this particular project back on the to-do list. Work won't start right away, especially with three games spinning and in the air at the same time at the moment, but at some point soon I'll start going through and seeing where I got to with these custom chapters.
It would be nice to finish the write-ups and icon-designing, maybe wrap it all up in a little custom-pdf or something. Who knows, might even get some use out of them one day, but that's really just a bonus if it ever gets that far. |
