MidCon XXXIV takes place in a comfortable hotel in the city of Derby from Friday morning (11am) to Sunday evening (6pm).

The convention features:

• the opportunity to play board games with like-minded adults, including all the hot games from this year's Essen games fair
• the MidCon music and general knowledge quiz for teams of four on Saturday evening
• the chance to buy even more board games from Spirit Games
• the chance to sell your surplus games on the Bring & Buy stall on the Saturday afternoon or pick up a bargain

MidCon is primarily about playing games and meeting people. You can play any of the number of games people bring along with them, including the hot new games from the Spiel games fair in Essen, which takes place a few weeks before MidCon. Popular games include 18XX, Puerto Rico, Agricola, Dominion and Power Grid, but you are welcome to bring along your own favourite games – you will almost certainly find some people willing to play at least one of them.

Costs
Attendance at MidCon costs £20 for the whole weekend (day rates are £10 for each day) if you book before November 1st, or £25 if you book after that date (you can pay on the door if you like).  

You do not have to stay in the Hallmark Hotel or the Hallmark Inn to attend the con but if you are thinking of doing so, charges are as follows:

Hallmark Hotel Accommodation: Bed and breakfast prices of £58.00 Single, £70.00 Double / Twin per room per night. Thursday 10th November 2011 available at £63.00 Single, £75.00 Double/Twin

Hallmark Inn Accommodation: Bed and breakfast prices of £48.00 Single, £60.00 Double /Twin per room per night. Thursday 10th November 2011 available at £53.00 Single, £65.00 Double / Twin.

The Hallmark Inn is 50 metres from the Hallmark Hotel, across the street.

Both hotels have dedicated, free car parks. Derby railway station is about 50 metres away and there is a bus link from there to East Midlands airport.
