Starting a thread about games I or Others would like to play on Wednesday night at Spirit Games.

If agreed on for a set night it saves on bringing spare games etc and makes for an easier organized night maybe?

Yes, that'll be two weeks running I'll be there (although that could change at a moments notice to be honest!!).  +:beer=+::beer:

One thing I should stress though;

No more post midnight finishes. I'm cream crackered and that's no lie  ::)

need more than 3 options on the poll if thats posible

as for very late finishes not sure we can avoid those but it would be nice

As event is being run at the Anglers Club, kick out is between 23:00 & 23:30, so its a good early finish for a change  ;D

I see that the voting closes on the Thursday cool that means if you didn't like the game on Wednesday you can vote for something else the next day (sound like a plan)

add Tomb as I would like to give it a play test, acquit would be another on to play test.

I picked up a game today in SG - call me an old sucker but I love dungeon crawl games - so I picked up one called TOMB which is a new game (August 08). I have skimmed the rules and it looks intriguing and pretty well constructed. The pieces are good quality and it will pass the time admirably. It says it is for 2 - 6 players - although Boardgamegeek reviews (not many yet as it is still a new game) says it is probably best for 3 or 4 players, otherwise there is too  much downtime for players. Apparently it plays in around an hour (say an hour an a half with learning rules etc..

Anyone interested in a go at it on Wednesday next week? Or tomorrow? or tonight??

I'd also like a go at "Horrorclix" on Wednesday - I think I might have tracked down a starter set off the iweb.... (Phil doesn't have any!!!)

This poll allows each voter upto 3 votes (which they can also change at any time), so that they can pick several games they would like to play on wed night at the shop.

The problem with a list this long is that even if 10 people vte most games will only get one or two votes each anyway!

The other problem is, on the night the number of players is fluid and therefore voted game cannot be played.

Its a guide to suggesting the game to be played, so people dont need to bring the library with them, only just a couple of games. 

It was also to try and make the game selection process a little quicker instead of the 30mins of headbanging that we sometimes have.

Wooohooooo Tomb next Wednesday and permission from the wife.  See you at Spirit games ;D

Continuing my fine tradition of buying games no one wants to play I have just got hold of Lost Cities: The Board Game (bought from Phil; don't feel so guilty now).

I haven't had the chance to have a good look through yet but it is basically Lost Cities with a few extra gubbins, it's also a quick one (under an hour with 4 apparently).

So, anyone fancy giving it a go on the 14th? Don't all rush at once now  ;).

I wouldent mind playing as I am always up for playing something I have never heard of or played before.  I would also like to play conflict of heroes if you want a proper evaluation game.

I'd be up for a proper game of CoH if we can persuade Richard to bring it again. And he's not sold it yet (he wasn't impressed!)

Played Power Boats & Tempest

so none of the games voted for then I played Moto GP which was fun drunk lots of beer ate cake :) :) and narrowly avoided using certain peoples heads as a drum kit :(. Who apart form he who shall not be namedand wouldn't play anyway is up for a good advanced rules game of Moto GP? I cant wait to play it again personally.

Played Powerboats finally after seeing it played in the shop.

Its a great fun game, trying to work out where your boat is heading and how much 'POWER' you need to get it.
We played 2 rounds with Oscar and Zarni? winning each round.

The Tempest was played.  I liked the strategy behind the game and ended up winning it with a last round of war mongering.

Only downside to the evening was the 1am finish, I really need to adjust the games I play on the evening so I can finish earlier.

second that even though I left at around 11 it was not nice the following morning at 4am going to work and Friday was worse having gone to Tiki's brilliant traveller on which more else where, and got back at midnight.

Played Red November great little game even if we did lose at the last instant the reactor went critical and we all fried but suffocation & or being crushed by the depth where close on its heals. We did deal promptly with all the big nasty's and up to the last 10mins of game time it looked and felt like a certain victory.

Galaxy trucker was also played in the back room and Richard and Pete played a quick game of Agricola as a warm up & I bunked off from my Role playing duties for the night.

what else happened is any ones guess as I staggered off at 10pm because of my early morning start.

Some say whats the idea of voting, and that we never play the games voted for, all I know is

Galaxy Trucker with big box expansion got 5 truckers, trucking through the galaxy for 2 rounds, thats a big ten-four, because I won with 40 credits while doing Clarkson/Convoy impressions all night.

Then 4 monks went for a hover to find the missing books.

It will only end at the third sign that of you turning up with a star wars squad for me tomorrow. Of course if you don't I just get to beat you more and don't think you don't deserve one already after the Frau Clarkson  goes trucking episode.

I am you may gather a little narkded as I missed Sator Arepo Tenet Opera Rotas which I really wanted to play but was to knackered to think by the time it arrived to play it a three round five player galaxy trucker would also be good.

We need a new way to go about this as there are more games potential available and we need a means for people to make suggestions. Any ideas? I will look to see if there are any mods that may offer a solution.

I'm with you on the 10:30 exit though after stumbling out of the shop bleary eyed at 12:45 last week! The day after was not fun. Mind you I do have Thursday off this week...
