players represent traders exploring unknown regions and building up trade routes to build and expand the empire.

Players explore, trade, build, buy workers, gain privileges all to earn VP`s. The board and pieces are extremely well made, look excellent and fits the theme nicely.

This is by no means a short game to play as players have a lot of action choices made by moving their playing piece around a Rondel. There is plenty to think about with a fine balance being made between building up ships/buildings/churches or keeping cash reserves for later rounds.

Every choice and action has significance so you have to plan your go carefully with a mind of what you need to do next time, hence why this game plays a little longer than it says on the box . That said it is quite an enjoyable game and you rarely notice the time it takes to play as it is engaging throughout, even when it is not your turn. A good game, one that I will play again

A Splendid game & another one of my top favourites it is a roundel based game, like Antike, with you only having one action per turn so the turns are cycled trough quickly so there is very little feeling of a lul when its not your turn & even with a full compliment of players planing you next move as you can only move forward on the roundel by a limited number of spaces & you always need to do more than you can so a simple mechanic provides a challenge.

There seems to be more than one winning strategy which I like & the games are often much closer when you score at the end than it may look or feel in game. This is very defiantly a game to join in if offered at Raiders or Beer & pretzels.
