Title: My Mordheim warband Post by: EvilGinger on 31 May 2011, 21:02:36 I will be posting pictures of my Mordheim warband as I pain them but here is the list from which I will be working.
Marienburg Mercenaries Heros Emile Von Lansdow Light Armour Helmet Shield Sword Sergeant Lutz Light Armour Helmet Halberd Sword Sergeant Holtz Light Armour Helmet Cross Bow Sword Dieter the drummer Sword Ensign Yacob Croitsfeldt Light Armour Helmet Spear Sword Warriors Marksmen (5) Helmet Sword Cross Bow Halberdiers (5) Helmet Halberd Light armour Spearmen (4) Spear I plan to make or convert them from Perry plastic European mercenaries plus a few bits & pieces form the bits box (http://www.perry-miniatures.com/images/merc_contents.jpg) >:DGinger Title: Re: My Mordheim warband Post by: EvilGinger on 04 June 2011, 03:41:45 to these I would add a selection of heads form the Perry metal range
(http://www.perry-miniatures.com/images/ea/EA_7.jpg) (http://www.perry-miniatures.com/images/ea/EA_6.jpg) Just for some variety as this is a skirmish game & I also plan to do enough that I can expand my warband beyond the starting numbers given above which would mean increasing the spearmen to a full group of five & may be adding a second group of unarmoured Halbardiers to act as a second rank. A sixth hero with options of each troop type in case of a lads got talent roll would also be in order. >:DGinger Title: Re: My Mordheim warband Post by: EvilGinger on 05 June 2011, 17:27:01 I am fighting the urge to built a Dwarf warband as well since I saw some in Spirit Games yesterday....

The one above for the border Princes Game & a smaller one for a standard Mordheim game which I have still got to work out but which I will post when I have. Both of them will be Marrienburgers as I have an idea for using them together in another game in the future.

Hero's Mercenary Captain Karl von Croitsfieldt Heavy armour Two handed Sword Helmet Sword Young blood Squire Kurt Light armour Helmet Sword Buckler Young Blood Squire Erik Light armour Helmet Sword Buckler Warriors Marksmen (two) Helmet Handgun Sword Spearmen (five) Spear This is a band of fairly inexperienced mercenaries lead by their "noble" lord & his squires the hope would be tom have an initial superiority in numbers & to add better troops as cash allows the spear men are there to keep the enemy off the expensively equipped & very lethal hand gunners Title: Re: My Mordheim warband Post by: EvilGinger on 11 June 2011, 17:41:32 I now have the Marienburg Mercenaries for the classic form of Morheim put together from the Perry "European mercenaries". which was quick & painless though the figures being to scale they are a bit delicate especially the spears, which I may have to replace with wire at some point. The shortening of which from pikes proved remarkably easy so end swaps to tun them into pole arm men for the larger warband should be little problem.
I will try to get some pictures of them on here latter. likely tomorrow as I have still managed to avoid getting a USB cable for my phone or finding the card reader for my Camera. the only thing is that the spear men are all in marching poses with their spears shouldered, this is sensible considering the length of the pikes they where makes this the one practical pose for them if you want them to rank up easily. If you want other poses it the easiest would be to mix parts with the "Bill & Bow" box set I would recommend getting the Perry extra heads shown above if you want more than a few figures with no halmets as the heads in the set are all helmeted in one way or another except one >:DGinger Title: Re: My Mordheim warband Post by: EvilGinger on 11 June 2011, 21:24:03 I now have all the figures put together for the larger Marrienburg warband except I find I have used all of the unarmoured arms & body for the spearmen in the smaller one so will have to share until I can get another box. The spares will do for expansion equipment upgrades & an Idea I have about doing small Warhammer battles with a suitably modified version of Sharp Practice.
I will bring them by the Shop & Portal on Wednesday they wont be painted yet. Edit - Update all the figures I have are now primed & I have gone over them with a sharp knife for a final clean up unfortunately I only had black primer to hand so they are primed black which wasn't quite the original plan >:DGinger Title: Re: My Mordheim warband Post by: EvilGinger on 14 June 2011, 04:33:53 Despite working on other things and not expecting to have got beyond the primered stage I have begun to paint them whilst they wont be finished by Wednesday they will be a work in progress. I still need sort out Cameras et al so no pictures yet

Heroes Dwarf Noble Heavy armour, Dwarf axe, Spear, helmet ,shield. @175 gold (http://www.reapermini.com/graphics/gallery/4/14146_G.jpg) Troll slayer Two dwarf axes @ 80 gold (http://www.reapermini.com/graphics/gallery/4/14341_G.jpg) even if it only has one axe engineer Light armour Brace of pistols Sword @110 gold (http://www.spiritgames.co.uk/figs/reapjpg/03241.jpg) Warriors Beardlings (2) Light armour, helmet spear @ 65 each (http://www.spiritgames.co.uk/figs/reapjpg/14397.jpg) a small band which would likely work better in the larger format with more warriors but still I like my dwarves. >:DGinger Title: Re: My Mordheim warband Post by: EvilGinger on 04 July 2011, 22:52:18 did a bit more painting on my Marienburg mercenaries for the first time in quite a while as it was too hot to think or do detail so blocking in colours worked nicely.
I will post some pictures but I am still mastering my Camera phone though I can get pictures the right way up now which is a result of a sort >:DGinger |
