Spirit Games (http://www.spiritgames.co.uk), with help from Jaques (http://www.jaqueslondon.com/) - the world's oldest games manufacturer - are providing a games area at the Beer & Food Festival at Burton Town Hall (http://www.eaststaffsbc.gov.uk/Services/Pages/TownHallFunctionsandBookings.aspx) on September 17th/18th 2010. So, between the bursts of entertainment in the main hall (or during, depending on your tastes), you can play all manner of games in the back hall. In addition to the traditional pub games such as skittles and shove ha'penny, there will be  easy-to-learn board and table games, and space to play anything else that takes your fancy; the Spirit Games (http://www.spiritgames.co.uk) library is only 4 minutes away.

The thirst-slaking facilities are being provided by The Wetmore Whistle (http://thewetmorewhistle.com/), Freedom Brewery (http://www.freedombeer.com/), Woody’s Cider (http://www.woodyscider.co.uk/woodyscider.html), Dervertio Brewery (http://www.derventiobrewery.co.uk/), Burton Bridge (http://www.burtonbridgebrewery.co.uk/) and Marston's (http://www.marstons.co.uk/), and food from the kitchen will include a hog roast.

Tickets are £6 including glass, opening times are 11.00 to 11.00 on both Friday and Saturday, with children welcome up to 6.00 pm

Phil and Sally are looking for gentlemen and gentlewomen of leisure who would like to join them in gaming and being sociable, there are free beers to be had for keeping the area (wo)manned when we have to nip back to the shop occasionally.

I will be there and will be available to help staff the games section just so long as I get to run off between 4pm & 6pm to collect enough cash to pay for Saturdays papers

after all some one mentioned Free Beer & I cant turn that down as if my dad ever found out I would be disinherited  :'( :'(
