I remember seeing it presented as some kind of scientific project. I don't know why they're selling it as is though, as it does nothing but balance well. They could have done something with it so it at least had some marginal practical use in the home or something. It sounds really great that they're gonna use the technology in satellites and that, but they could have made it do something useful before selling it to us great unwashed.
