Relic Expedition

Relic Expedition is a jungle exploration game. As players explore, new tiles are revealed and the board grows in unpredictable ways, making each game different than the last.Players need supplies to survive the dangers of the jungle as they race to find valuable relics. They carry both together in their backpack, but backpack space is limited. As the game progresses, players must make tough decisions about which relics to keep - and which supplies they can live without. The first player to collect a set of four matching relics and fly away from the jungle wins the game.

The citizens of Verona have grown tired of the constant quarrel between the houses of Capulet and Montague. As ruler of the region, Prince Escalus has formed a council to help mediate the conflict and bring lasting peace to Verona.

1914 Offensive a outrance (translation: Offensive to excess)

In August 1914, at the beginning of the First World War, Germany launched its armies through Belgium and northern France in an attempt to achieve a quick triumph and avoid a long costly two-front war. The first weeks of the war resulted in a series of German victories that took them to the outskirts of Paris. There, in early September, the French counter-attacked at the river Marne and forced the Germans into a short withdrawal. Subsequently, when the Allied counter-offensive stalled at the Aisne River, the belligerents unsuccessfully manoeuvred to outflank each other in what is known as the "Race to the Sea." The campaigning season ended in exhaustion and stalemate at the Battle of Ypres.1914, Offensive a outrance, The Initial Campaigns of the Western Front in WWI realistically covers these battles fought in Belgium, France, and Germany during the first months of World War One.1914, Offensive a outrance is a comprehensively researched model that explores this fascinating set of campaigns with an accurate order of battle and detailed game map. The map encompasses the entire theatre of war from the English Channel to the Swiss Border. The game system used is a streamlined derivative of the 1914, Twilight in the East system, modified to speed play, with care not to lose focus on those aspects of warfare that made the opening stages of WWI so unique. This game system, in conjunction with the accurate map, allows the German advance to be conducted along historical routes with the eminent "Open Flank" present (instead of units strung out from map edge to map edge). The Allied player has an opportunity to recreate a "Miracle of the Marne" type victory or to stop the Germans earlier. Likewise, the German player has a chance to change history and defeat the Allies' armies in 1914.The Grand Campaign scenario covers the period from the fall the Liege on August 16th to exhaustion at Ypres in mid-November. Two shorter scenarios, The Battle for Lorraine (a learning scenario) and From the Marne to Stalemate, are also provided.Contents:Seven and 1/2" full-colour counter sheetsThree full-colour map sheetsFour Army Organizational display sheetsFour identical player aid cardsRule BookScenario BookGT record track cardFour 6-sided Dice

Vimy Ridge: Folio Game Series (Ziplock)

Arras DiversionThe German strongpoint at Vimy Ridge, commanding the trenches of the Western Front for miles in every direction, had withstood numerous Allied assaults. Yet another assault was planned for April 1817, this time by the newly assembled Canadian Corps backed by a huge concentration of British artillery and airpower. But this was no mere repetition of earlier massed assaults. A thorough plan, compete with meticulous timetables for the massive creeping barrage, was carefully rehearsed in the weeks leading up to the attack. When the Canadians went over the top on 9 April, they were as well prepared as they could be to dislodge the Germans once and for all.Vimy Ridge utilizes the popular Fire & Movement system, modified to model World War I operations. It features more detailed bombardment rules and less flexibility in support fire to simulate the realities of trench warfare. Trenches and frontal assaults are the primary tactic in the game, resulting in high rates of attrition. Players must rely on careful massing of men and support fire to break into enemy position. Most units have the facility to absorb some losses and keep fighting, but only at substantially reduced strength. Winning the battle is a matter of manoeuvre, firepower, and target prioritization. The Canadians start with a significant advantage in numbers and position, but must move carefully or see their advantages wither in the face of determined resistance. The German player must hold key ground to slow and eventually stop the Canadians, but also must know when to pull back to preserve a continuous line. For both players, the game is a tense balance between forces, ground, and time.Game Contents:17" x 22" terrain map100 die-cut countersOne Standard Rules booklet for this seriesOne Exclusive Rules booklet for this title

Molino Del Rey: Mini Game Series (Ziplock)

Gateway to Mexico City 8 September 1847In September 1847, Winfield Scott began his assault on Mexico City by ordering the capture of Molino del Rey, where the Mexicans reputedly were casting cannon to strengthen the city's defences. Just beyond, the citadel of Chapultepec guarded the causeways to the city. A quick US victory at the Molino might turn into a war-ending pursuit. As it happened, heavy US casualties forced Scott to call off the battle after taking the buildings. This game covers both the actual and potential fighting: the US player may be satisfied with just the first objective or try for the big win, while the Mexican player must play for time and try to inflict maximum losses.Molino del Rey uses the QuickPlay version of the Musket & Sabre system to simply yet accurately portray warfare during the muzzle-loading era. Combat is based on unit quality rather than raw numbers, and rewards use the historical tactics. Infantry, tough and resilient, bears the brunt of battle. Artillery can smash attacks or open holes in enemy lines, but is vulnerable and brittle. Cavalry is weak in stand-up combat, but crucial for pursuit and the occasional chase against a broken foe. All units are susceptible to rout when weakened, so players must maintain reserves. Leaders enhance unit capabilities.Winning the battle depends on deployment, thoughtful manoeuvre to concentrate at key points, proper coordination of arms, careful use of leaders and special units, and an understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of each army.Game Contents:11" x 17" terrain map40 die-cut countersFour page rule booklet plus scenario instructions

Combat Commander: Europe (Reprint)

Combat Commander: Europe is a card-driven board game covering tactical infantry combat in the European Theater of World War II. One player takes the role of Germany while another player commands either America or Russia. These two players will take turns playing one or more "Fate" cards from their hands in order to activate units on the mapboard for various military functions. There is no strict sequence of play to follow in Combat Commander: each measure of game Time is divided into a variable number of player Turns, each of which may consist of one or more "Orders" conducted by the active player. "Actions" may generally be conducted by either player at any time. "Events" - both good and bad - will also occur at random intervals to add a bit of chaos and uncertainty to each player's perfect plan.Orders include: Fire, Move, Advance, Recover, Routs, and Artillery functions. Each nationality also has a varying number of Command Confusion Orders which act as duds while in hand.Players attempt to achieve victory by moving their combat units across the game map to attack their opponent's combat units and occupy as many objectives as possible. The degree to which a player succeeds or fails is measured by a scenario's specific Objective chits, the destruction of enemy units, and the exiting of friendly units off the opponent's board edge. Command & Control is extremely important in Combat Commander, being modeled via the "Command" number on Leader units. Command serves both to enhance the abilities of Squads and Teams stacked with the Leader, as well as allowing for multiple activations with a single Order.Combat Commander includes twelve historical scenarios as well as a "roll your own" scenario system that provides an almost unending variety of map configurations, combat situations, and historically-based force structures. Each scenario is played on one of twelve maps, each with a 10 x 15 hexgrid depicting various terrain at a scale of approximately 100 feet per hex.Replayability for Combat Commander is high. And with unlimited possibilities as far as additional scenarios, maps, units, weapons, variants, etc. that will be released in years to come - as well as the expected sequels covering the British, Italians, and the Pacific Theater - Combat Commander is one of those rare exceptional values in wargaming: one that can be revisited time and time again, each with a new tale to tell.Game Contents:* Three full-colour Coutersheets* Six 17" x 22" 2-sided colour Mapsheets* Four colour 8.5" x 11" Player Aid Cards* One colour 8.5" x 22" Track Display* 220 Playing Cards* Colour Rule Book* Colour Scenario Book
