This is good as I never could seem to make it to the Talbot after the first time I am proposing to run some Dux Fantastica at the shop if any one is interested the new wargames room would be perfect....

Even if my figures are not yet painted

I will also bring my X-wing stuff down

Monthly Gaming Now at the Shop 2nd Sunday of every month
By Sally

Next Date: 11th August

As we are now settled into the new premises and have a lot more gaming space, we are moving our monthly Sunday gaming from the Talbot to the shop, which has the advantage of our games library on site. The Burton Bridge Brewery is just over the road for those who want a pint with their game, tea and coffee are free at the shop and Aldi and Family Bargains are close by for those who want snacks.

Parking at the supermarket is still restricted on Sundays and the council car parks still charge, but there is plenty of legal on road parking and other good alternatives nearby, ask for advice.

Played Nations lost horribly but I still like the game I need to practice a bit more I fear. It is however a viscus game and its easy to be drawn into side issues and miss stuff that is in the end rather important

Played trains which is very much a train based version of Dominion with the added tactical element you actually having to build stuff on a board - which I also lost horribly & need far more practice on.

Played X-wing which I won and also should play a lot more often as its been a year nearly since my ships saw action. I cant remember what else I played   however I had a great deal of fun in some good company.

I had my first game of Fierfly at Spirit Yesterday & it was brilliant fun very evocative of the series and its setting if a bit long though that was the players fault to be honest had we concentrated on the game and its goals, rather than luxuriating in the 'verse  we would have been done near to the quoted time. If your a fire fly fan get a copy and honestly wallow in it as much as play it.

I also played 7 Wonders, Tsuro twice & had and Power Grid in which for a change I did quite well even if I did lose and I did only get home just before midnight

I hope every one else had at least half as much fun

No pathfinder RPG Demo...

But did get a game of King of Tokyo - always fun and to try Wizards of the Coasts Dungeon Command which was a lot more fun than I had expected and nothing like I expected. I had expected a rehash of D&D minis but it was nothing of the sort, the game being a dice less system with two card decks one of creatures and one of orders, which also included spells and special abilities. Very well done with good components and some nice models pre painted with a good if basic standard which would tart up rather well in the hands of a good painter. I rather want a set or two myself and will certainly be singing its virtues in the shop at every opportunity.
