25 mm war games figures cost 11p for infantry

Games Workshop was a real games shop

D&D only went up to 3rd level

A small portion of chips was 25p

There where only three TV channels

You could still get the cane at school

I had to save up for my copy of Commodore Format (http://www.commodoreformat.co.uk/). Penny sweets were like Ferrero Rochet. We hunted squirrels in the park armed with nothing but pointed sticks and loincloths. We sold my sister for thermal underwear. - Ah the good old days!  Roll Eyes

I was told about that and given to understand that the chap that bought her thought he had had a very bad bargain and that the antislavery league where not too chuffed either.

It's an old topic about old times.

Hmmm.

Used to be able to walk out the door and have a walk through the woods without seeing anyone.  Now you get run over by prats on mountain bikes thinking they're tough for riding down a track.

Used to be something to be able to get within ten feet of a deer without it bolting.  No challenge now, they just look at you as if to say "hwat you looking at".

Black Jacks used to be 3 for a penny.  Used to be able to get money back on pop bottles too.  Good way to encourage recycling if you ask me.

When I were a lass.........

The most important thing on my mind were dogs & horses
We still had pounds shillings and pence.
You could see two films at the cinema for your money.
Kids were too busy playing games outside to sit in front of the telly.  Roll Eyes
You used your manners and had respect for your elders.   Wink
The years passed by a lot slower............ !   Smiley

When I were a lad

You could still see where the brewery railway tracks ran (there were still tracks in the road by the Singer shop)

Chips were wrapped in actual news paper.

There actually seemed to be a difference between Labour and Conservative.

Tom and Jerry wasn't considered too violent for children.
