Run A Game - Get In Free!

With the success of Con-Quest we are going to do it all again in 2012 only bigger and better than before.

Dates are Saturday 14th April 2012 and we are at the Derby Assembly Rooms again.

We endeavour to provide a wide and far reaching games programme for our attendees to showcase what UK role players can offer.

To avoid clashes and overlaps the day will be split into two slots for games that will run for 3.5 hours with a gap in between for food, refreshments, wandering the trade hall, etc.

Day will be split into slots
Slot 1 = 10:30 until 14:00
Slot 2 = 15:00 until 18:30
To register your games before the convention, you will need to email the gaming hotline address at dave@con-quest.co.uk and we’ll see to it that you’re booked in with a table and advertised on the website.

Pass on the usual sort of details:

GM name
Title of Game
Game System and Setting (if important)
Game Slot
[morning or afternoon?]
Quiet or Display Game? [In a quieter room or in the main hall]
Max Number of Players
Length of Game
Short Description
[up to 500 words]
Tags [any short, snappy key words, such as age, experience needed, drop in or sign up?]
We’re happy to get any kind of game with a variety of settings or genres for all tastes and gaming philosophies.
From D&D 4e to Pathfinder via Dead of Night, RuneQuest and Savage Worlds, traditional to radical, chess to Heroclix, demo game to playtest, Last Night on Earth to Warmachine with a little Call of Cthulhu along the way – label up what you want to run and we’ll do our best to promote it and provide you what you need from the venue.

For those that are unsure or are not confident GMing a game for strangers we will offer support and help.

6d6 at Con-Quest 2012

6d6 is looking forward to returning their 'home' convention and we will be there in numbers.

We will have a full range of 6d6 products for sale including the brand new 6d6 Shootouts pick-up game

As always, we will be running as many games as possible. Demo games of 6d6 Shootouts will be taking place throughout the day and we also have five scheduled 6d6 RPG games:

AM - Slot 1

"Crashing into Tartarus" - Ben Lally / 6d6 Bots
Join the creator of 6d6 Bots (coming soon) on adventure that will change you view of the solar system.

"Marionet" - Kieran Kowalski / 6d6 Core + Cybernetics
Join the writer of our Cybernetics supplement in a near-future adventure.

"Savage Island" - Matt Jackson / 6d6 Magic
Our tried and tested demonstration game returns with a new GM.

PM - Slot 2

"Empty Spaces" - Faye Lampshire / Unnamed Project
A first public playtest of a new project. The setting is unnamed because we cannot find a title that involves vampires but doesn't infringe a certain company's trademarks.

"American Sweethearts" - Ben Jackson / Rebel Flesh
Another first public outing, this time for a brand new modern horror setting by 6d6's best selling author.

The aftershow party will be at the Brunswick Inn near the Derby Railway Station.

From 19:00 to late in the upstairs part of the building. Some games may even break out there as well!
All are welcome to attend to discuss your war stories from the day’s games, relax in good company talking about the gaming hobby or even have some more games!

Built in 1842, and nearly pulled down in the Eighties, the Brunswick is a red brick, triangular shaped building at the end of a row of former railway workers' cottages. The station is a couple of minutes away, which makes it very handy if you have time to kill between trains.
They brew their own beer here, with the kit on show at the end of the stone-flagged corridor, such home-brewed delights as the bittersweet and refreshing Triple Hop or the dark and coffee-like Rockin' Johnny's Derby Pride. There were 14 real ales on offer, half of them brewed on the premises.
Beer nirvana.
Nicely priced too!

The Brunswicks a fine Pub despite it being associated with the Big Meetup's and living in Derby much of which I have no fond memories of.

Malifaux is a miniatures skirmish game set in a universe infuenced by Victorian steampunk, gothic horror and the Old West, amongst others. Your crew of 32mm miniatures, led by your Master, will need to achieve a strategy and schemes, whilst preventing your opponent achieving theirs, and what's more you get to Cheat Fate along the way. All you need are a few figures with their stat cards, a tape measure, rulebook and fate deck (no dice here) to enter the world of Malifaux.

Come along to the Old West town of Edgeport to learn how to play. See Sonnia burst here opponents into flame whilst Rasputina puts the chill on them, and Lady Justice lays down the law!

We're members of the UK Laser Tag Association, an umbrella organisation of various smaller groups that organize live-action role-playing games in various genres.  The people coming to Con-Quest will be volunteers hoping to publicise some upcoming games, and "Tag" as a medium for LARP.

Darran can you remind Phil about Conquest next time  as he would very much want to go to the next one & rather regrets not making sure he was at this years but it clashed with stock take & the going live of the new Web site so he decided he had too much on.
