Si: The merry band of adventurers “The Band of the Inexperienced”, entered Cauldron City to seek their fame and fortune, a chance encounter of a brawl in an alleyway sees this Small heroic band rescue a priest from thugs, by some strange twist of fate they went to an inn where rumours and stories abound of children going missing.
DSB: As you wind your way through the dank streets towards the Drunken Morkoth you responded to the noise of a scuffle and cries for help coming from an alley. Through the pouring rain you see three men attacking a robed figure on the floor. The chap, who you later find out is Ruphus Laro a Cleric of the church of St. Cuthbert, was returning from a visit to the city orphanage. As you approach you over hear one of the assailants say "And stay away from the orphanage".
Entwhistle's tactical instinct kicks in and dodges round to the other end of the alley, while the rest of you advanced down the alley towards the three characters. They warn you off, but to no avail. Rogan then noticed a person stuck to the side wall of the alley (Spider Climbing). She said to you "well done you are indeed very observant, but the cleric lives because we wish it so" and at that she disappears over the rooftops. The three thugs seem less bold at her departure and eventually break and run.
Entwhistle picks up the thugs trail as they exit the alley and follows the three through the sodden streets. They pause in a doorway to remove the face paint they were wearing (Note: The face paint later turned out to be the markings for the Last Laugh thieves guild) before continuing on to the Tipped Tankard tavern near the lakes edge. Entwhistle deduced, after narrowly avoiding being mugged himself, that the three assailants were in fact city guards.
The rest of the party assist Ruphus and help him back to the temple where he introduces you to Jenya Urikas, the acting head of the temple of St. Cuthbert (you also briefly meet Alex Tercival the temple guard).
