Doing a bit of digging after last nights talk with PIXIE & TIKI

& tound this on the Malifaux Forums

http://wyrd-games.net/forum/showthread.php?t=25043

I am also looking at Victoriana - Fantasy Victorian era with magic which I have the first edition of & Savage worlds which do steam punk supplement & a simple magic/superpowers set of rules which would cover all the other bases. However I would prefer Basic Role playing (RQ) which also does this and can be tuned to be as grim as Malifaux seems to be.

Have hold of the Fluff from the now out of print first Malifaux Book & I will see what I can do about building a roleplaying game around it

There are also apparently the Wyrd Chronicles vol 1-3 on the wyrd site but these wont download for me for some reason

Not having done such a thing before, I would still recommend (on instinct) trying to keep as much of the thing based on a single system as possible. Look forward to seeing what you come up with, though, either way.

Tiki the core of the thing is going to be Basic Roleplaying, which is the core system used for both Runequest  & Call of Cuthulu a couple of rather interesting supplement are avalible particularly

which is a source book for the wild west with suggestions to use it for weird west amongst other things &

which expands on the magic systems included in Basic Roleplaying  itself

I intend to loot the other systems for ideas I would then rework to mesh with Basic roleplaying as they are all mechanically incompatible.

I also find playing the game helps give me a feel for the world & would suggest it to others especially as there are enough forces in the shop to to do this without getting drawn into it as a game.

Have read through all the fluff & I think it would be relatively simple to use basic roleplaying with a few tweeks to do the job. Though I would say its literally a very grim and dark world out there .

I'd say there's room in the week for more games, so yeah, I'm up for it.

Ok I will post a bit of background which to be honest is my building on what's written in the Malifaux books & the Malifaux chronicles & working in some of my own about the history of the alternate earth & late Victorian - early Edwardian period in the real world.

One thing for certain the player characters will not be the masters from the games background but will be as significant in their own way. I would also warn people to expect quite a bit of Chthluesque feel if not actual Cthhulu the Neverborn are inhuman alien being with near godlike powers which killed the world of their origin and no have opened a gate or gates to our own.
