& as we will see I was in spades  Evil

what occurred written by Quericesticus the hearth god of Sunny Vale

the day before

The calibration party was going to be much more exiting this year as the master was coming home and bringing a pack of friends with him. That would mean the proper rituals being conducted by a proper dragon blood and one who had a real stake in the estate of Sunny Vale not a delegated mortal or some passing stranger who would go through nothing but the forms with out the feeling to go with it.

As you would expect the whole house was busy preparing with the mistress swanning round like she was a real dragon blood & not the total failure she actually is. I made sure nothing went wrong as a mere mortal cannot be trusted to do such things and thought I say it myself

On the first day
The master arrived with a strange group of travelling companions including a scale of very grubby mercenaries with of all things their whores and their bastards in tow, and some Carthak house troops who really showed them up for the rabble they where. As well as half a dozen of his peers and their servants and slaves. Still they where all guests and all where accommodated as appropriate to their station and then the party began.

The Master got things off to a bad start by being inappropriately friendly with his children as well as introducing all and sundry to his travelling companions who turned out to be his companions in his campaigns against the Harbouhead rebels which also explained the smelly scruffy mercenaries. I suspect the master had it in mind to convert them into an escort for his new post, ever the masters way to try to make a silk purse out of a pigs ear.  The party then continued with the first feast of the festival which ended with the mistress and one of the Masters trawling companions playing a game of gate way. It was a very odd game and I would have sworn the mistress threw the game if I didn't know that she would never do such a thing and shamefully regularly beats the master one of the chosen  of Wood dragon at the game of all games save that in heaven the greatest of the gods play. The winner was a plain girl of I would guess fourteen, but already exalted & the eyes of the spirit strangely auraed  who was one of the Masters companions form the south and the prize seemed to be the Master favour in the bed chamber shameful we are a house hold of Sesus not V'aneef ....

On the second day

It got worse I would not have credited the possibility in what had been in retrospect a fairly well ordered household though I did complain that it was not. I am very much afraid that events have made a fool out of me and I will say so truthfully to any who enquire about it. The master and his mistress spent most of the day in the guest room which had been allocated to her, I will comment no further on what proceeded there. Whilst the mistress of the household retired to her study and commenced to draw astrological charts. A total waste of time untill the visitor Laura went to speak to her

To be continued....
