Reposted form the lardie Yahoo group a taster for the 2013 summer special.

Quote
Hopefully we'll have the special finished this weekend for a Monday release. We are really all hands on this one at present.

As a bit of a taster I can tell you some of what will be in there.

1. A XXX Corps mini-campaign for Operation Garden with ten actions to be fought for IABSM.
2. The Green Fields Beyond. A look at British tactics in 1918 and three scenarios to accompany for Mud & Blood.
3. War of the Roses for Sharp Practice with two scenarios
4. Air War in Vietnam. Two articles covering aircraft availability by year and region plus how weather can affect that in CDS.
5. Terrain in Dux Britanniarum.
6. Multiple player campaigns in Dux Britnaniarum
7. Roundwood report (no idea what's in this apart from it is Sid interviewing Nick (so probably a load of bollocks).
8. A big piece for Bag the Hun
9. Scenario generator for Kiss Me Hardy
10. More of Nick's pulp gangsters leading up to the Christmas Special which will have the rules for this whacky 1920s speak-easy adventure.
11.An Augustus to Aurelian scenario set in Britain
12. A Q13 scenario from Roberto
13. An Arab Israeli War scenario for IABSM

Plus some other stuff I can't remember. But it is really shaping up now. All I need is some sleep! No chance of that as we have a very special game of CoC on Lard Island tonight.

Rich

Sounds rather interesting.

Definitive contents page for the Lardie 2013 Summer Special

Quote

Boys and girls. The Sumer Special is nearly upon us. I have it down to 10.1MB so just a bit more work to go to drop below the 10MB which is my goal. Unsurprising it is so large, it spins in at over 130 pages and it is full of meaty, beefy, big and bouncy stuff. Here's the contents page.

Page 4 Highway to Hell. A min-campaign for the Irish Guards Battlegroup on Day 1 of Operation Garden

Page 25 Beware the Tides of March. Phil Hendry presents a scenario for August to Aurelian

Page 29 The KMH Squadron Builder. Fat Nick shows us how to generate naval squadrons for Kiss Me Hardy games

Page 35 The Green Fields Beyond. British infantry tactics for the open warfare of 1918. An overlook and three scenarios

Page 49 If You go Down to the Woods Today. Mike Whitaker seeks out realistic terrain for Dux Britanniarum

Page 56 Of All Base Passions. Pat Smith presents his rule amendments for Sharp Practice in the Wars of the Roses

Page 62 Escape to Cock Lane. And check out the backsides of St Albans as you attempt to evade the victorious Yorkists. As scenario from the War of the Roses first battle

Page 66 Bloody Greenstead 1477. Pat presents his epic War of the Roses scenario for Sharp Practice

Page 69 CAS in CSD. Brian Weathersby gives us an insight into airpower in Vietnam to add some punch to our Charlie Don't Surf Games.

Page 81 Lard & the Blogosphere. Sidney Roundwood gives us the low down on his blogging days.

Page 84 Conflict on Kovnat. Inter-Galatic warrior Robert Avery presents a scenario for some hot action on Planet Kovnat.

Page 91 Double Dux. Regular Man-of-Lard Chris Stoesen gives us some tips for multi-player gaming with Dux Britanniarum.

Page 98 How to Protect Your Kibbutz. Tag team Jon Yuengling and Mark Kinsey present their thoughts on gaming the Yom Kippur War of 1973.

Page 105 The Roundwood Report. Sidney dons his surgical gloves to probe Fat Nick in his first interview from the dungeons of Lard Island. Could it be more painful than it sounds?

Page 111 Hotter than a Snake's Ass. No, not a follow on piece from above! Nuno Pereira looks at weather from Da Nang to the Delta and how it can affect our games in Vietnam.

Page 117 Your Dirty Rat 2. Dirty Rat Fat Nick builds up to the crescendo of his puply gangster game planned for the Christmas Special with part two of his force collection tales

Page 123 Who Pulled his Chain? Big Rich talks Chain of Command as he explains some of the thinking behind the new concepts you can look forward to in the summer

Page 129 Bagging the Bismarck. The Fat Lad presents the "ultimate war in the Atlantic scenario for Bag the Hun. Can you bag this nautical Hun?

I was going to put the cover up but now I see Ben has posted some snaps of his panzergrenadiers I am going to look at that instead. Then it's Pimms o'clock!

The Special will be released tomorrow morning.

Cheers

Rich

Reposted from the Lardie yahoo group

Quote
Right boys and girls.

Tomorrow on Lard Island News we will be running a day of live (almost) CoC action. Throughout the day we will be playing a game and posting on Lard Island News regularly - maybe every phase, maybe every other phase. We will be adding photos of the action and will also be available to answer any questions as the game progresses.

We plan to start the game at around 10am British Summer Time, which is Zulu +1 and then play until we end the game or we get fed up and go to the pub. Probably about 1530. So, why not drop by during the day to see the game updates as we go or chuck in a question or two.

Rich

I for one am rather looking forward to this
