I am also working on a follow up for Storming the Hun II which I will post more on but will like the two games in the series so far expand on the previous ones. I have the bare bones of the Scenario in mind & I think its time that Burton Joyce's Brave lads took a turn at defending......

I dont have a time scale for running this yet as but I would perhaps like to do so at or complimenting the raiders after next.

I have been planing a section of trench for this which will be around  four feet wide and two feet deep and contain two lines of fighting trench & a maze of communication trenches and several bunkers one of which would be a company command post. These would be built in the same way that I built the strong points for Storming the Hun I & II having taken on board the lessons learned from them.

The Scenario would involve the Germans practising "storm trooper "tactics attacking with  two storm groups backed up with a combat engineer team who would be their to clear wire & blow up bunkers etc as well as all being trained bombers. These would be backed up by one or more line platoons & supported by a short rolling barrage. Defenders would be Miles Burton Joyce's lads & another platoon form the same company with the company commander able to phone in for SoS barrages as long as he still had an intact phone line. there might also be the possibility of a British counter attack / reinforcements as the Germans will be unable due to shortages of shells to hold a box barrage around the area to be assaulted as the British and the French would.

I would want to run this at BEER & LARD II & save the raiders after next slot I mentioned above for a WWII game following on firom the one at the next Raiders
