Now I have a vague Idea as to what might happen here is the proper intro passage

Having met up with a party from the Civilized world our heroes are taken on board by the commander of the escort to a hunting party in the deep desert, however he is unable to do more than give them shelter & feed them as decisions about what happens on the trip are in the hands of the hunters especially those concerned with turning back north. Which is what would have to happen if the party wanted to get taken to civilization.

How will the hunters react? and what where the tracks every one saw on the way to the party?
