Fantasy Flight have announced a release of proper miniatures for Arkham Horror:

I have mixed feelings about these..

They look great!!.. but only in pack of 2 Huh? and look at the price ($12.95) .... Seriously I like the fact that FFG is moving into providing accessories for games but why do they have to overprice them in comparison to the rest of the market. I mean the WOTC character minis are slightly better value for money ($10.99), yet I still would not buy them for the same reason I feel they are a little overpriced, Days of wonder have a set of Knights for Shadows over Camelot 8 figures for $22.00 much more reasonable.

If FFG released these in a full set for each expansion (Original, Dunwich & Innsmouth) at a decent price I would be tempted, at this price I'll wait until the 2nd hand market or shops selling off stock becuase it did not sell as expected, otherwise I'll just stick to the really well done carboard pieces that come with the game.

They do look like they are pretty high quality though, admittedly. And let's face it, Frog is likely to buy them reguardless. Wink

Not if I point out that Phil has the metal lovely chthulu models and that there is me to paint them, I suspect the result will be both cheaper and of course unique.

Painted game minis are a nice idea but they have to be done right and not only on price.

I agree, the minis should have been released as a set for the game and a set for each expansion. It's not like a person who owns the game is gonna want two of the character minis and leave the rest as cardboard. It's not like the characters are even individual collectable elements of the game, they come complete with the box. Annoying.

If they did this with the Talisman expansions (same company) i'd be miffed. But they don't. 4/5 plastic minis come with all expansions so far, while Arkham fans get treated like idiots who'd shell out bank notes for two blobs of plastic. TUT!  Undecided

mmmmmmmm

Shopping time  @ Spirit  me thinks   not worthy

Only problem is, there's approx 48 characters in the game currently, thats alot of $.

Also hoping there's a big mini for each ancient one to scare the players into instant insanity   Evil

Did you know that if you painted a card tube green add the words "Arkham Horror" and £9.99 price tag, I'll probably buy it.  help

Looks like Fantasy Flight have had a change of heart over these minis, read here. Seems a lot of people were not happy with the release proposal and fair play to Fantasy they have decided to pull the line rather than disappoint.

Goramm it,

1) I know I'll save lots of money, which will still be spent on games @ Spirit.

2) I think the mini's would have looked nice on the board, I wonder if there's still selling first batch off cheap.

3) I'll think of something else when released from the Alysum again  Grin

Latest news from Fantasy Flight Games about the Arkham Minis

Looks like they are going to sell them individually at $3.99 each, but not via the usual retail/Distribution networks but are inviting retailers who wish to carry this line to contact their sales department sclifton@fantasyflightgames.com
