Returning from their adventure having rescued the youngest son of the lord of Falconvale and those of his companions who survived and rested a little our hero's where asked to go after the Harper which had been the cause of the children's misadventure.
To this end they travelled to the fading trade town of Thornvale to the west in which direction the errant Harper had gone. Once in Thornvale the hero's come upon a crowd of dwarves, refugees apparently, outside the Temple of Helm who where arguing with the Priest there. Listening to this argument it appeared that the dwarves had come through a month or so earlier in a larger body with an escort under arms to recover their generations lost hold in the west. They had not faired well and seemed to have lost their men at arms, they where requesting the aid of the temple of Helm. The chief priest of the temple of Helm was unable to offer any help for gone where the days when the temple in Thornvale could send a paladin & soldiers.
Intervening in the conversation our hero's offered to help in exchange for some coin to escort the dwarves back to their home land.
